There’s over fifteen inks in this piece, mostly in textures, and copper gilding. Each of the segments was cut out of paper by hand, and all textures are exposed from brushwork on tracing paper. It’s all hand-created, with the intent to make a screen print that had some qualities of a painting. Plenty of ‘drifting outside the lines’ by intent. Named Follyfoot as an homage to the classic kids TV series of the early ‘70s, but also as a nod to the outright impractical nature of working in this fashion. It took forever to complete, and is priced accordingly.
Follyfoot I was intended as a diptych partner for Follyfoot II, but can work independently as well.
